Volunteer

The Tibetan Nuns Project (TNP) relies heavily on volunteers around the world. The following is a listing of the most immediate volunteer needs, but let us know if you have a particular skill to contribute.

SEATTLE OFFICE
Our USA office is located in the heart of historic Pioneer Square. We are always looking for volunteers. Tasks can include product preparation, inventory, mailings, database entry and artwork. If you don’t live in the Seattle area or are in town on business, this is a great opportunity to meet us. Please call 206-652-8901 or email info@tnp.org for directions. We look forward to hearing from you!

LOCAL OUTREACH
Calendar distribution: TNP independently produces and distributes a yearly wall calendar. The majority of our sales rely on individual distributors to friends, local bookstores/dharma centers.

Host a small gathering: We have just produced our first video that narrates the flight of the nuns out of Tibet and the work of the Project. Hosting a video showing in your home is a simple and personal way to raise interest about the nuns. We provide you with a materials packet to assist you in hosting the showing.

EVENT OUTREACH
Provide TNP literature at events in your area that attract people who would be interested in TNP. We provide you with all necessary materials.

TECHNOLOGY
Any experience in database architecture and networking is greatly needed. We use Filemaker Pro 8.5 relational database.

Graphic skills: Create literature for informational, media, and website purposes, and unique items for special events.

EXPERIENCE OR SKILLS
Legal Advisor: Work with the Development Director to establish a "Charitable Gifts and Estate Planning" packet for donors. Provide legal advice for other policy questions.

Endowment Development: Creating an endowment fund for Dolma Ling to ensure future self-sufficiency. Any experience with institutional endowment foundations would be helpful.

Marketing/Public Relations: Developing relations with and publicizing events in the media and increasing public awareness of Tibetan nuns and the Project.
